THE EAGLE EXPERIENCE
The objective of the Eagle High School men's baseball program is simple; to create an environment and culture of success where young men can develop and grow, not only as baseball players, but citizens of our community. We are looking to create a culture of excellence that spans not only baseball, but academics, community service and beyond. At Eagle High, we want to attract the best of student athletes on campus to play baseball. Playing baseball at an elevated level is the result of excelling in many areas over a prolonged period. The goal is for the players to get wrapped up in the process and the results will take care of themselves. Our motto is "Do the Little Things Right." We want our players to leave our program and have the tools to be successful at whatever they choose to do in life.
Pillars of our program include community service, academic excellence, and overall development of our players from the younger levels thru the Varsity level. The foundation, development, and day to day activities of our program are guided by a clear vision, mission, and set of values.
Vision: To develop servant leader young men who contribute to society in a positive and lasting way through playing the sport of baseball.
Mission: We commit to focus on the daily details at school, in our community, and playing baseball to improve each day as upstanding members of the Eagle community, high school, and baseball program.
Values:
- Servant Leadership - Put the needs of others first and help individuals to develop and perform as highly as possible.
- Community Service - Work for the benefit and betterment of our community.
- Honesty and Integrity - Be truthful and sincere in words and actions. Adhere to moral principles and ethical values consistently, even when no one is watching.
- Academic Excellence - Go beyond outstanding grades. Commit to the pursuit of knowledge, continuous improvement, and contribute to the broader academic community.
- Discipline and Focus - Be highly productive and organized. Follow through with whatever we do. Stick to the task at hand and see it through to completion.
- Maximum Effort - Push to new heights to achieve our goals
SYSTEM FOR PROGRAM SUCCESS
1. Strong Academic Foundation and Expectations for Athletics: Student-athletes will understand the importance of their education at Eagle High School. Academics will always come first. Expectations for academics and behavior will be established on day one. Our belief is that a student-athlete who has a strong work ethic in the classroom will transfer it over onto the athletic field.
2. Develop Quality Baseball Players: For any program to be successful, you must have quality athletes. Player development is the most important job of any coach. Establishing a style of play, expectations, and practice plans that enhance player development will allow our program to take off and find success on a consistent basis.
3. Positive Parent/Student-Athlete Communication: It is important to keep the players and parents informed. Furthermore, it is vital to the program that we have a system in place that is followed to create a healthy environment for all. If a player has a concern, the first step is for the player to come and talk to the coach. This creates personal responsibility and open dialogue between the player/coach. If the concern is not resolved, then the parents and the player can make an appointment with the coach to discuss the concern. If not resolved, then the parent can make an appointment with the Athletic Director, Coach, player, and parent. The goal is for fair, positive, honest, and open communication.
4. Community Service: Giving back to the community we play in builds a sense of connection, commitment, and pride. Community service within our program is a bonding experience where players think of others beyond themselves. This ties into and emulates what we want to be as a program; selfless and hardworking.
5. Building Relationships with Faculty, Alumni, Community Members, Colleges, and Local Youth Baseball: We will focus on an outreach program that reaches locally and beyond. This includes Eagle High faculty, alumni, community members, and local youth baseball programs as well as colleges to connect our players with the best possible fit if they are talented enough to play on the next level.
